Enbridge, Carbon Farmer Team Up to Plant 327,00 Trees
Brad Rabiey is not your typical farmer. In addition to cultivating organic grain on his family farm near Manning in northern Alberta, he’s in the business of planting trees.
He owns The Carbon Farmer, a tree-farm enterprise that turns previously cleared lands into conserved forest across the province while helping people and businesses offset their carbon footprint. The concept for Rabiey’s business is simple — customers can pay his company to plant trees on their behalf or they can purchase what he calls “farm-fresh offsets made in Canada.” He’s onto a good idea. And in just six years in business, he’s developed a growing clientele of clients, including Enbridge.
