#GoingToBat Community Spotlight: CC Sabathia Pitches In To Help Inner City Youth

For CC Sabathia, pitching in for his community is as important as pitching for the New York Yankees.

Sabathia and his wife, Amber, established the PitCCh In Foundation in 2008. With a mission to enrich the lives of inner-city kids, the foundation developed three signature programs – the All-Star Baseball Clinic, Youth Backpack Program and CC Holiday Caravan.

The signature programs remain in place today, but the foundation has grown beyond the scope of these programs.

The PIF also renovates baseball fields, awards scholarships and holds various fundraising events. Recently, the foundation renovated the Claremont Park baseball field in the Bronx.
