Campaign: Give Wishes Wings

Make-A-Wish® supporters have donated 11 million airline miles this April as part of the month-long Give Wishes Wings campaign - enough to fill two and a half planes with wish families traveling to their wish destinations. With one week left until World Wish Day on April 29, Make-A-Wish challenges travelers to donate enough miles to fill one more plane and make more travel related wishes come true.

Each year, trillions of airlines miles are estimated to go unused. In 2014, Make-A-Wish granted more than 14,200 wishes, nearly 75 percent of them requiring travel.

Travel wishes, like all wishes, are unique to each wish kid. There are wishes like Aubrey’s, who wished to go surfing in Hawaii, and Fred’s, who wished to go to Cape Canaveral to see the last Space Shuttle launch. Wishes like Hannah’s, who wished to perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, require travel, too.

The process to donate miles is quick and simple. Supporters can visit givewisheswings.org, choose from a number of airlines and enter a few pieces of information.
