Nine Top Investor Takeaways from BIER

Growing stakeholder expectations and increasing requests for sustainability disclosures present an opportunity for the beverage sector to help ‘shape the future’ of transparency and disclosure -- a future where information sharing is streamlined to meet specific stakeholders needs, while supporting the advancement of company strategies.

This appropriate balance between telling the sustainability story and actually making an impact lies at the heart of the Beverage Industry Environmental Roundtable (BIER)’s efforts. As part of our recent exploration efforts, BIER facilitated two Investor Panel sessions with invited stakeholders.

At these Investor Panels, BIER members solicited insights related to:

1. Actual versus perceived data needs from the investor community; 2. Insight on how data is actually used in practice by investors; and 3. Projections from the investor community on the future of transparency and key trends.

We've accumulated these insights in our new report, Nine Top Investor Takeaways from BIER.  Key areas of emphasis include the importance of materiality, the future of reporting, and potential reporting fatigue. We've included challenges, tips, and suggestions gleaned from our investor panelists, with the intention of furthering dialogue towards shaping the future of sustainability transparency and disclosure.
