Tetra Pak Sustainability Reporting Reaches 20-year Landmark

Tetra Pak has published the company’s 2018 Sustainability Report, along with its first ever report from 1999, marking the company’s 20 years of sustainability reporting.

Over the past two decades the company’s approach to sustainability reporting has evolved significantly: from focusing solely on environmental commitments and actions, to evaluating every part of the business and its impact, including societal and supplier governance; from self-assessment to adopting Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines and aligning with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to ensure the company can make the biggest possible impact.

“In my 19 years at Tetra Pak, sustainability has always been at the core of our promise to protect food, people and futures”, said Mario Abreu, Vice President of Sustainability. “The process of annual reporting keeps us focused on our sustainability commitments, and we have learned a lot along the way – especially the importance of partnerships, making constant small wins and complete transparency.”
