EcoCloud: Transformational Results From Using Integrated Reporting

With the recent update of SAP’s preliminary sustainability results for 2012 and the impending release of their first ever Integrated Report for 2012, we sat down to speak with SAP’s Chief Sustainability Officer Dr. Peter Graf. Dr. Graf talks about how Integrated Reporting <IR> is transformational in driving integrated thinking not only for the company’s sustainability strategy but also for the overall corporate strategy. From his experience, he believes <IR> is important for any company interested in driving sustainability into the heart of their business.

What would you like to tell us about <IR> and SAP’s sustainability strategy?

Peter Graf: Integrated Reporting <IR> needs to be seen as part of the wider strategy that SAP had embarked on when we made sustainability a strategic priority to the business back in 2009. At that point, we had separate strategies: A sustainability strategy, a product strategy, a go-to-market strategy, a people strategy, etc. It became clear that even if we executed our sustainability strategy very successfully we would still only represent one of the many different aspects of the business competing for attention from our senior management.   Click here to read more of EcoCloud's conversation with SAP's CSO Dr. Peter Graf   *This article orginially appeared on EcoCloud
