We’re a global company with diverse employees, customers, franchisees and shareholders. As our diversity journey evolves, we’re focused on inclusion as a leadership competency to make sure we have the right leaders in place across our organization. That means we’re sharpening our approach to attracting, developing and retaining top diverse talent, and also maintaining a workplace where all people are valued and respected.

“At Yum!, diversity and inclusion are part of living and leading our culture, as well as key enablers to our success,” said James Fripp, Yum! Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. “The most successful leaders in our company apply this cultural mindset as they lead the business to reflect our ever-changing communities, customers and investors.”

Fripp recently spoke about inclusion as a leadership competency at the National Retail Federation’s 2019 Big Show. View some of the session here.

This is a journey for us and we’re working to make more progress in relation to underrepresented minorities in our U.S. Brands. However, we’re proud of the movement we’ve made so far as it pertains to the number of women in senior leadership roles globally. We’re also working to increase the multicultural competency of our existing corporate workforce through activities such as Inclusive Leadership (unconscious bias) training and employee engagement through Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
