One can't help but take notice when Carol Cone, the person who is considered the originator of cause marketing, says it is dead as we know it. In June, AdAge ran a column penned by Mike Swenson, CMO of Barkley, headlined "The Day Cause Marketing Died." Swenson and Cone are essentially saying the same thing.
