While we are already a big supporter of open innovation and open source initiatives – including our membership in the Core Infrastructure Initiative – today The Linux Foundation introduced Bloomberg as their newest Gold member.

“Our developers, and our customers, benefit greatly from the rapid pace of innovation taking place in the open source community. We look forward to continuing to work closely with The Linux Foundation and to both learn from and contribute to the community in a way that benefits the entire Linux ecosystem,” said our CTO Shawn Edwards in their release today.

“Bloomberg is both incredibly savvy and forward-thinking with technology, leveraging it internally as well as contributing to the bigger community,” said Jim Zemlin, Executive Director of The Linux Foundation. “The company is one of only a few financial data companies that’s an original Core Infrastructure Initiative member working with us to better protect modern computing. We’re pleased to see Bloomberg significantly expand its partnership and investment in The Linux Foundation.”
