Booz Allen received its first Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Recipients will be recognized at the National Small Business Week 2019 Awards May 6 in Washington, D.C.    “Your hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to your employees and community have helped you build an outstanding business that has strengthened your state’s economy,” Linda McMahon, SBA Administrator at the time, wrote in the award letter. “The SBA is pleased to celebrate your achievements and recognize your personal role in driving our nation’s economic growth.”   A prestigious recognition   The award recognizes excellence in a company’s small business program and how it uses small businesses as suppliers and contractors in government business. The SBA honored Booz Allen in the category of Services. During National Small Business Week, recipients are recognized for their work growing small businesses, creating 21st century jobs, driving innovation, and advancing America’s competitiveness.    A panel of SBA and non-federal judges evaluates companies on criteria including outreach to small businesses, programs for small businesses, technical and financial support, and mentorship. Only one organization is honored per category.    “Booz Allen is deeply committed to the small business community, and we are honored to receive this award recognizing that commitment,” said Linda Asher, Vice President leading contracts, procurement and pricing services at Booz Allen.   A strong tradition of small business support   Booz Allen supports small businesses through a dedicated Small Business Office, industry events throughout the year, and membership in several industry associations. The firm’s mentor-protégé program recently received a Nunn-Perry Award with protégé DarkBlade Systems, and the firm has been recognized for its collaborations with Veteran and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.     “Small businesses are critical suppliers to Booz Allen, delivering a diverse range of capabilities and domain expertise in technology and innovation,” said Asher. “We look forward to our continued partnership with small businesses as we bring bold thinking to solving our clients’ toughest challenges.”   Read more about the Eisenhower award, here.
