Calling on America’s Sustainable Communities
In the past three years, nine U.S. communities have received national honors for their efforts to blend economic, environmental, and social priorities and to advance the community’s overall sustainability and success.
-
Partnership: Do your community entities – government, chambers of commerce, local businesses, nonprofits, academic institutions, and/or others – work in partnership for community improvement and sustainable development?
-
Innovation: Has your community responded to economic challenges with innovative, sustainability-based strategies?
-
Business Support: Is there strong local business support for environmental stewardship initiatives in your community?
-
Stewardship: Has your community reduced its environmental footprint?
-
Results: Are the results from your community’s sustainability priorities measureable?
