Lilly: 20 by 2020

Earlier this year, we announced a new set of environmental goals which include reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and improving energy efficiency by 20 percent by 2020. We’re committed to operating responsibly so here are a few key projects expected to help us meet these energy targets:

• Optimizing heating, lighting, and air-conditioning by re-commissioning or retro-commissioning facilties. Such “tune ups” can yield an average of up to 21 percent savings.
• Using solar panels and low-carbon generation technologies at some manufacturing facilities like our new 44-acre solar panel system at our biologics manufacturing facility in New Jersey
