Lilly Supporting Relief Efforts for Tornado Victims

A string of deadly tornadoes wreaked havoc and took lives across Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Alabama, and Georgia last Friday. Lilly today announced that we are responding with a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross to support its tornado disaster-relief efforts and by matching U.S. employee contributions to the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

This kind of devastation is always heartbreaking, and given that we're an Indiana company, we felt a special obligation to contribute. We're proud to join many other individuals and organizations answering the call for our neighbors. Our hearts go out to all those affected.

Our $100,000 donation will support the American Red Cross as it helps people get back on their feet--and assist with its overall disaster-relief fund, which has had great demands placed upon it, dating back to last year's tornadoes in Missouri and Alabama."

We're also encouraging employees who want to help to consider making donations to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army. Those donations will be matched 1:1 by the Lilly Foundation, doubling employees' donation and impact.
