Through workshops, discussions, and online resources, the Big Dream Movement and Microsoft are working to empower the lives of young women around the world.

A cornerstone of the program, Big Dream follows the lives of seven diverse young women, as they face obstacles to challenge the status quo and follow their dreams. The film aims to bring light to the issues facing young women in education, and to rid society of stereotypes surrounding women in STEM fields.

“The idea is to use this film as an anchor to start a movement, and give it the oomph for action," explains Rane Johnson-Stempson, director at Microsoft Research Outreach.

Without Microsoft, the program wouldn’t have been possible. As an organization with a deep understanding of the challenges inherent in women's economic empowerment, Microsoft has drawn large attention to the program, by connecting young women to organizations, academia, and resources around the world.

“I’m so grateful for the partnership. Microsoft has been very strategic in bringing together all the great programs and organizations that are already out there,” says Big Dream director Kelly Cox.
