GivingTuesday is a global giving movement empowering people and organizations to transform their communities and create the world they want to live in. In a world that can sometimes be all too divided, GivingTuesday makes generosity and giving a part of everyday life, bringing people of all backgrounds, cultures and communities together to support the causes they care about most – and to make a difference.   PayPal has participated in the GivingTuesday movement since it began in 2012, enabling donations, measuring the impact, and spreading awareness about this wonderful way to begin the holiday season with giving.   This year, on GivingTuesday 2019, more than 1 million PayPal customers across 184 markets donated approximately $106 million to charitable causes. This new record for GivingTuesday is a testament to the generosity of our customers, who continue to inspire us every day.   But the giving does not stop here, and it isn’t just about contributions of funds. For the first time, PayPal is inviting consumers and nonprofits to make every Tuesday GivingTuesday this December. Yesterday we kicked off the holiday giving season by matching your donations at 10%; and now through the end of December PayPal will continue to share inspiring stories of generosity from around the world each Tuesday to encourage our PayPal community of customers and employees to give all they can – whether it’s contributions, volunteering time, lending skills, buying gifts that give back, or simply performing daily acts of kindness to make a difference in the world.   Everyone has something to give this holiday season. We’re excited to be highlighting these stories of generosity throughout the giving season starting December 7th. Head to paypal.com/giveback to learn more.
