Volunteering Is CSR

When it comes to pediatric cancer treatment and research, VolunteerMatch and Aflac are birds of a feather. The website with the famous hands and the supplemental insurer with the famous duck both share a commitment to helping kids with cancer and their families.

In keeping with Aflac’s commitment to fighting childhood cancer, last week we helped Aflac launch a new campaign site, aflac.volunteermatch.org, offering Aflac customers, friends, agents and employees thousands of unique ways to support the cause of pediatric cancer.

Alongside the volunteer projects and opportunities provided by VolunteerMatch’s network of 86,000-plus nonprofits, the new site also has inspiring ideas for hosting fundraisers in local communities and ways to give money to cutting edge research programs at Atlanta’s Aflac Cancer Center, designated one of the top pediatric cancer centers by U.S.News & World Report.

The partnership is just the latest step in Aflac’s commitment to pediatric cancer research and treatment.  Since 1995, the extended Aflac family has given more than $70 million to fight childhood cancer.

Making It Easier for Companies to Create Positive Community Impact

Aflac joins more than 150 other leading companies who are leveraging VolunteerMatch’s award-winning network to inspire audiences and successfully manage local volunteer initiatives. All this activity is having a huge impact, too – more than 40 percent of volunteer connections at VolunteerMatch have been from these kinds of partnerships.

VolunteerMatch and Aflac… together we are flying in formation – err, working together.
