A Green Solution To Red Asphalt

In my last installment, I told you about the Interstate Traveler Hydrogen Superhighway and shared a compelling interview which its inventor, Justin Sutton, agreed to give to the world. Now, I’d like to focus your attention on a niche technology which is based on Mr. Sutton’s green solution to the transportation and municipal infrastructure crises and will help reduce highway fatalities markedly.

Meet the Triage Traveler mobile trauma center.

Mobile trauma center? The name sounds fancy but what it is, really?

Think of the Triage Traveler as a Medevac platform on steroids, pardon the pun. While an important evolutionary leap when first introduced, the Medevac has become an anachronism in some applications. At the same time, the highways and byways of the world have become MUCH more crowded at the same time, so much so that more than 40,000 people die on the American highway system each year.

There MUST be a better way! The Triage Traveler mobile trauma center is part of the solution.

Many of the aforementioned highway fatalities are preventable with rapid-response care which also is comprehensive. In other words, everyone is grateful to the emergency medical technicians who staff our ambulances, helicopters and ships every day, often risking their own lives to save others but there simply aren’t enough of them to cover the tens of thousands of miles of asphalt which are occupied by automobiles every day. When collisions occur, more often than not, if the injuries are severe, the victims may die.

The Triage Traveler mobile trauma center is a better solution because of 4 key aspects:

1) It operates atop the Interstate Traveler Hydrogen Superhighway, the world’s first solar-powered high-speed rail system and the first magnetic levitation (MagLev) system intended for broad use. Hence, the vehicles can travel faster than any extant MedEvac platform.

2) It brings not just an ambulance to the scene of the traffic collision but an fully-staffed emergency care suite, complete with all the personnel (trauma surgeons, anesthetists, ER nurses, etc.) and equipment necessary to treat the most common types of blunt-force and concussive injuries found on the highway. These include:

c) A surgical bay, allowing for emergency surgery to be conducted quickly, without the loss of time currently experienced while victims are transported to the hospital and without risking the health and safety of the staff who can be subjected to subsequent vehicular collisions as the ambulance speeds along surface streets with its siren wailing.

3) Because it travels on elevated rail, its access to congested accident scenes is not impaired by the traffic jams which so often ensue when the flow of vehicles by necessity is halted.

Perhaps best of all, just like the larger rail platform which Justin Sutton intends to build along the entire Eisenhower Interstate Highway system in the United States and then beyond America’s borders, he asks no investment of public dollars for construction, maintenance or operation. Instead, he asks permission to use the public right-of-way, the medians and shoulders of the extant roadways which the public already has bought and paid for with taxes.

In essence, the Triage Traveler mobile trauma center will bring about an huge improvement in the ubiquity of trauma centers while allowing medical specialists to react quickly when an emergency occurs.

It’s a win-win-win situation.

I encourage you to click below to listen to the second part of the telephone interview which Mr. Sutton gave to me. It has a running time of just under 20 minutes and is focuses entirely on the Triage Traveler.
