Legitifi’s Corporate Giving Is A Powerful Tool For Driving Sustainability

While Thirst Project, the world's largest youth water activism organisation, builds freshwater wells in developing communities to give people access to fresh water. Thirst has funded more than 1,700 water projects in 13 countries to date, giving more than 280,000 people access to fresh water.

However, charity initiatives like these need financial support to keep going. That is why Legitifi, the first ever-social ID verification platform, is on a mission to help them and other charities.

Legitifi’s is an opt-in platform, allowing users to ensure that the person on the other end of a digital connection is who they say they are, promoting privacy, permission and accuracy for on-and-offline social interactions. It’s focused on charitable giving, donating ten cents to its charity partners, like Jax Surf Charities and Thirst Project for every Legitifi profile created. The aim for the first year is to raise $1 million dollars for their partnered charities, who also includes ASPCA, Children's Miracle Network, and other causes such as breast cancer awareness, the prevention of sexual abuse and humanitarian aid. The company is committed to growing this list - and increasing the amount of money donated year over year.

American individuals, estates, foundations and corporations contributed an estimated $390.05 billion to US charities in 2016, according to Giving USA 2017: The Annual Report on Philanthropy for the Year 2016. Giving USA, is the longest-running and most comprehensive report of its kind in the States; it is published by Giving USA Foundation, a public service initiative of The Giving Institute. Giving to all nine major categories of recipient organisations grew, making 2016 just the sixth time in the past 40 years that this has occurred. The nine categories are religion; education; human services; giving to foundations; health; public-society benefit; arts, culture and humanities; international affairs; and environment and animals.
