The CLP Group has launched its new Sustainability Report and Annual Report, setting out how to further decarbonise and digitalise its energy business across Asia Pacific building on the strong performance in 2018.
February 25, 2019 /3BL Media/ CLP Holdings Limited (CLP) is pleased to announce solid annual results for 2018. The Group’s operating earnings for the year increased 5.1% to HK$13,982 million. Total earnings decreased by 4.9% to HK$13,550 million, largely due to favourable one-off items in 2017. These figures reflected the combination of continued robust performance in our overseas businesses and dependable earnings from our Hong Kong base. They also allowed the Board to approve a fourth interim dividend of HK$1.19 a share.

We use this data to set improvement goals for our operations and interactions with key stakeholders.
2018 proved to be an active year in Corporate Social Responsibility with issues related to sustainability, globalization, advocacy on social issues and multiple natural disasters in the forefront. Imagine groups of college students, working together with community leaders around the globe, in a contest to develop cutting edge, small, affordable, solar-powered homes for a pre-determined location.
Imagine 20 of those teams assembling their homes on a micro-grid and opening them for inspection by architects, engineers, and leaders from the community where they will be located, along with thousands of visitors interested in learning more about how they were built and where they will be used.
Harnessing landfill gas as a renewable source of energy
Bryan Stirrat heads Tetra Tech’s Solid Waste Practice Group and has more than 35 years of experience in landfill planning, design, operation, and closure. A respected authority on innovative landfill gas management and landfill closure strategies, he has been Principal Engineer on projects at more than 250 landfills in North America and the Pacific. Mr. Stirrat has managed multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, environmental specialists, and construction personnel implementing large landfill master planning, landfill gas migration control, and landfill closure projects.
