Aramark: Building Community for the Big Game

February 3, 2017 /3BL Media/ - Students from Neighborhood Center Inc.'s Ripley House Charter School gathered for a Super Bowl-themed healthy tailgate party with Aramark chefs from visiting NFL stadiums (Cleveland, Minneapolis, Kansas City and Houston) who were in town to support the game.

The chefs introduced students to new ingredients and showcased healthy alternatives for familiar ingredients in traditional fan-favorite tailgate dishes. The event also featured football-themed athletic activities, such as a football toss, a relay sprint and obstacle course and a beanbag toss.

Roxy, a 2-year old Black Labrador, was raised and trained by Pilot Dogs, Inc., in Columbus, Ohio. When she was ready to graduate, Pilot Dogs taught Renee and Roxy how to work together.

Collaborating with nEbO, the junior membership arm of the Labour Movement (NTUC), on Headstart, a signature project that prepares secondary school students to be more work-ready, Marina Bay Sands organized a visit in November for 54 students from Springfield Secondary School.  nEbO is also a lifestyle club that actively reaches out to youth ages 12 to 25 by socially engaging them to create a vibrant community.  The organization empowers youth to be “work-ready, world-ready and life-ready.”
