A recent study conducted by reserachers at Harvard University, Massachusetts Institue of Technology and the London School of Economics, found the the Fair Trade Certified label has a large positive impact on sales.  The study also revealed that a substantial segment of consumers are willing to pay up to eight percent more for a product bearing the Fair Trade Certified label.
