At the International WELL Building InstituteTM (IWBITM), we strive to make the WELL Building StandardTM (WELLTM) as accessible, impactful and localized as possible for global users. One of our key initiatives that sits at the heart of that goal is crosswalks. These resources are intended to identify synergies between WELL and other global building rating systems, and streamline efforts for projects seeking a dual rating by acknowledging where WELL requirements are deemed equivalent or aligned with aspects of the alternate building rating tool.
Each year we look forward to highlighting the talent of designers in the hospitality field and supporting the education of future designers through the Durkan dscvr Student Design Competition. Developing next generation data center design concepts for facilities around the world
Glumac, A Tetra Tech Company, part of Tetra Tech’s High Performance Buildings Group, today announced it has hired data center design veteran Vali Sorell, PE, as its newest Mission Critical Vice President, Mechanical Engineering and Design.
Prior to joining Glumac, Vali spent 12 years with Syska Hennessy Group as Principal and Chief HVAC Engineer for its Critical Facilities Group. Since 2016 he has helmed his own firm, Sorell Engineering, providing high-level consulting to mission critical clients around the world.
Brian Stern is an energy analyst with Glumac, A Tetra Tech Company, who supports firm-wide sustainable and high-performance building design. His work improves building performance from initial concept all the way through operation. Using energy modeling software, he develops holistic building energy efficiency strategies appropriate to local environmental conditions.

Paula Chou is a mechanical designer with Glumac, A Tetra Tech Company, based in Irvine, California. She works on the sustainable design of HVAC projects for architects and owners of building construction. Paula has a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering.
