Living The Dream at Mary Kay Seminar


Last week, I had the privilege of working at The Mary Kay Foundation booth at Mary Kay Inc.’s Seminar.

If you’re not familiar with this Dallas tradition, it’s the huge national convention for all Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants. More than 30,000 were predicted to attend this year.

Seminar is almost too big to describe. But I’ll give it my best shot. Seminar combines the quality of a Broadway production with the glamour of Miss America and the enthusiasm of a Super Bowl.

Feeding America of Eastern Wisconsin (FAEW) has big plans to serve its neighbors in northeast Wisconsin and needed supply chain consulting support to make it happen. Their distribution center in Omro, Wisconsin is stretched to capacity, while the needs in their community have grown 61% in the past two years. They’ve launched a capital campaign to build a new distribution center. 

An Opportunity for Inspiration


We often lose sight of how fortunate we are, and the stories and struggles of others can offer us perspective and humility. As a summer intern in GSK’s communications department, I was given the chance to work on the GSK Opportunity Scholarship program. This college scholarship is awarded each year to students who have overcome great adversities and are changing their lives through education.
