The Government of Afghanistan (GOA) recognizes prison overcrowding as a major problem facing its justice system. To mitigate this issue, the GOA occasionally issues pardon decrees to release those who have committed minor infractions. These decrees enable the Afghan prison system to reduce overcrowding and focus its resources on major offenders.
Using technology to reduce insecurity and train local Case Management System operators in Afghanistan
Through the Justice Sector Support Program (JSSP), funded by the U.S. Department of State, Tetra Tech developed the Case Management System (CMS), which allows the Government of Afghanistan (GOA) to compile and analyze justice sector data quickly and accurately. By gathering statistics on nationwide crime, our team and trained operators can monitor the length of time an accused individual has been held without being granted a court appearance.
Daniel Webster Middle School in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) has just begun a transformation to a new era of learning.
