School may be out, but the impact of Action Team Captains’ work is still being felt by communities across the country.

The Action Team youth volunteer program added 34 schools to its roster this year, bringing the total to 86 participating schools across the United States. Since its creation, the program has served more than 280,000 people inspiring 91,000 high school students to get involved in their communities.

Carnival Cruise Line’s guests have taken to the cruise line’s new charity partnership with The Children’s Hospital at Westmead with gusto – wiggling, wobbling and nutbushing their way through its inaugural Wiggle for Westmead dance parties. 

The first ever Wiggle for Westmead event saw 120 Carnival Spirit guests put their dancing shoes on to raise more than $2200 for the children’s hospital, a feat quickly topped last week by guests during the second party, which raised an impressive $3100.

Young People of the Crow Native American Reservation Share Their Stories Through National Geographic Photo Camp

National Geographic gave 15 Apsáalooke youth from the Crow Native American Reservation in Montana the chance to learn photography and writing during National Geographic Photo Camp from June 8-12. The five-day camp, a partnership between the National Geographic Society and the Crow Tribe, brought together photographers, editors and researchers with the reservation's young people to discuss the role visual storytelling can play in preserving the tribe's cultural heritage. The students' work was then displayed in a public exhibition at Little Big Horn Community College.
