General Motors Partners With DTE on Wind Energy in Michigan

DETROIT, February 26, 2019 /3BL Media/ — As part of its commitment to increasing its renewable energy footprint globally and finding clean energy solutions near its operations, General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) has partnered with DTE Energy for 300,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of wind energy in the state of Michigan. Once complete, the energy sourced will be enough to power 100 percent of the electricity needs of GM’s global technical center in Warren and its Detroit-based operations at the Renaissance Center. The 300,000 MWh are equivalent to the amount of power consumed by nearly 30,000 U.S.

The Warehouse Group Goes Carbon Neutral

CarboNZero certification has been granted The Warehouse Group, the company congratulated on its achievement by climate change minister James Shaw.

Towards this end, the group has worked with global energy management company Schneider Electric to install EV charging stations at 24 of its store locations across the country.

New ARĪV eBikes From GM Are Available for Preorder

Today, GM announces ARĪV as the name of its new eBike brand, which includes two innovative, integrated and connected eBikes: the Meld, a compact eBike, and the Merge, a folding eBike. The name ARĪV was selected as part of a global crowdsourcing campaign announced in November 2018.

“The crowdsourcing campaign allowed us to bring consumers into the development of our brand,” said Hannah Parish, ARĪV director. “Combine that with our products and our blend of bike and automotive talent, and the result is a unique brand DNA.”

America’s Yellow School Bus Gets an All-Electric Makeover

The yellow school bus is a familiar sight on America’s roads. As Fontana Unified School District students returned from their holiday break, one familiar thing was missing from two of their buses: black exhaust.

These buses are now all-electric and run on batteries. They are not only free of emissions, but much quieter. On a typical school day, the buses travel about 100 miles taking students from home to school and back, as well as on field trips. Electric buses can drive up to 120 miles per charge.
