In 1987, after continuous national lobbying efforts, Congress passed Pub. L 100-9 which designated the month of March as “Women’s History Month.”

In honor of women who came before us, women who will come after us, and women among us, the Tyson Foods Women's Business Resource Group (WBRG) celebrates Women's History Month.

Our WBRG serves as a resource for team members—women and men—who believe in advancing women and transforming our workplace through engagement, networking and career development.

The Scotiabank Women Initiative was outlined during a luncheon hosted by Scotiabank on Friday at the Holiday Inn in Oakville and attended by some 50 people.

Held in celebration of International Women’s Day, it also included guest speaker MP Oakville North — Burlington Pam Damoff.

To most, it’s an antique computer. But to Dawn Bardot, the Commodore 64 brings back special childhood memories.

“I would write and play programs,” she recalls. “While other kids were making flashcards, I was programming spelling words into the system and testing myself.”

These were the days of 8-bit home computers, BASIC operating systems, and using old television sets as computer monitors.

“Those are good memories,” laughs Dawn. “But I could tell from a young age that I liked to create.”
