2013 BNSF Holiday Express Honors Military Families in Four States
There was no shortage of smiles as BNSF's sixth annual Holiday Express took to the rails Dec. 3-10, 2013.
The train, which provided rides to about 2,500 members of the military and their families, operated through portions of Idaho, Washington, Oregon and California. While on board, families were treated to special holiday snacks, given a commemorative holiday ornament and had a chance to share their holiday wishes with Santa.
In addition, the BNSF Railway Foundation donated a total of $100,000 to organizations that offer support to military members and their families. Since the Holiday Express’ inaugural trip, the Foundation has donated more than $500,000 to organizations that support the troops and their families and has donated $500,000 to the USO to benefit Operation Enduring Care.
