National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) was recently presented with $295,000 by BJ’s Wholesale Club to support the organization’s mission to provide help and inspire hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services.

Along with the check presentation, Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer and Prevention two-time cancer survivor, Lisa Halkias-Thiesing, received the Dr. Gina Villani Courage Award. Ms. Halkias-Thiesing is the Director of Clinical Operations at the Ralph Lauren Center and oversees all of the support programs. Such programs include: patient navigation, nurse navigation, financial navigation, on-site food pantry and outreach to the community. BJ's also donated healthy snacks and water for the patients at the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer and Prevention.

Annually, BJ’s raises money to support breast cancer awareness through the purchases of select pink items in its clubs throughout the month of October. BJ's members and team members rallied together to share their support of those affected by breast cancer by writing words of hope and encouragement on posters throughout BJ's clubs last October. BJ's also shares an Early Detection Plan app, which can be found at www.bjsforpink.com
