With Earth Day on April 22, Consumers Energy employees showed their commitment to “leaving it better than they found it,” with volunteers fanning out across Michigan to tackle community projects.

Consumers Energy Employees, Bethany Weens and Jessica Spagnuolo Villarreal, wanted to make a difference. "Consumers Energy has a long history of environmental stewardship, so just a couple of years ago we really started investing more in this idea by getting green teams going." said Spagnuolo Villarreal. "We have been working with the city to start these cleanups in various parks around Jackson."

Their efforts brought over 179 employees together in Jackson on Friday for the cause. Other employee efforts have been taking place in West Michigan, Saginaw, Flint, Bay City and Lansing.
