Republic Services of Sacramento, the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership and the City of Rancho Cordova came together for Reuse Roundup, a school supply drive that aims to collect reusable school supplies from local schools at the end of the school year that would otherwise end up in our landfills.

This was the second year of Reuse Roundup, and with the help of the six participating schools, over 900 pounds of reusable school supplies were collected.

On Thursday, June 16, Republic Services staff and volunteers from the Volunteers in Neighborhood Services, Police Activities League, the Folsom Cordova Unified School District and the City of Rancho Cordova came together to sort through all the donated materials. Reusable materials included backpacks, clothing, pencil cases, lunch boxes, writing material, art supplies and much more.

The sorted materials were donated to the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership to aid in their annual Backpack Drive which benefits students in Rancho Cordova who may not have direct access to school supplies.

Republic Services of Sacramento is proud to be able to help the young residents in Rancho Cordova succeed by providing them with essential school supplies.
