Human Traffickers on Notice as IBM Activates AI Crime Fighting Tool

Dec 20, 2019 10:30 AM ET

IBM has activated the Traffik Analysis Hub (TA Hub), used by public, private, and not-for-profit organizations as they collaborate to disrupt human trafficking. TA Hub, which uses IBM AI and IBM public cloud, was developed on a pro bono basis and features technology donated by IBM. The system enables authorized organizations, such as financial service companies, NGOs, and law enforcement agencies, to collaborate on a continuous basis. They can now securely share and analyze non personally identifiable data to connect seemingly unrelated clues that analyze, pinpoint and confirm suspected criminal activity. Crime fighters will generate and share insights they may not have gotten on their own. The TA Hub trawls public news and social media feeds, then correlates events and trends with information that consortium members are looking into, like bank fraud.
