Susquehanna Service Dogs puppy raiser Meghan Miller is often asked how she can give up a dog after raising it for 18 months. She and her husband gave up their first service dog, SSD London, in October 2014. Since then, she has seen how London has given his partner new independence, new responsibilities, and new dreams.

Meghan and her husband are currently raising two more dogs to become service dogs. Now when people ask how she can give the dogs up, she says, "How can I not?"

Meghan will be walking to support Susquehanna Service Dogs (SSD) in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on May 16. SSD is one of 46 local organizations participating in the walk. Highmark Blue Shield underwrites the entire cost of the walk, so 100% of the funds raised will go directly to Susquehanna Service Dogs.
