Congratulations to The Venetian and The Palazzo for winning the Sustainability Leading Company award at the Hospitality Stars of the Industry awards gala. The 6th annual industry event was hosted by the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association, and honors talent, performance and excellence from Nevada’s prestigious hospitality industry. Nominees and award recipients were recognized at the gala for the superior service they consistently provide for Nevada’s hospitality industry.

The Sustainability Leading Company award recognizes an industry property or business that has developed a culture toward integrating environmental management practices that improve everyday operations at the bottom line, while maintaining quality service and meeting guest expectations. The program must demonstrate success in one or more of the following areas: energy conservation, solid waste reduction, effluents and emissions, water conservation, purchasing, and business issues (e.g. guest demands, community issues, land use and development, training and policy). The Venetian and The Palazzo proudly demonstrated success in all of the required areas.

As the leading developer, owner and operator of multi-use integrated resorts and casinos in Las Vegas, The Venetian and The Palazzo maintains and operates one of the highest room and convention space inventory in Las Vegas, and therefore adheres to the Sands ECO360 Global Sustainability strategy to ensure they are proactively and consistently looking to lessen their impact on the environmental and the local community.

The Sands ECO360 Global Sustainability program focuses on four pillars, which includes Green Buildings, Environmentally Responsible Operations, Green Meetings, and Stakeholder Engagement, which touch every single aspect of LVS’ property operations. The strategy was designed to help minimize environmental impact, and it reflects the company’s vision to lead the way in sustainable building development and resort operations.

“We are committed to being an industry leader in sustainable business practices,” said Pranav Jampani, director of sustainability at The Venetian and The Palazzo. “Receiving this award demonstrates the dedication of our team members to reduce the impact of our company’s operations on the environment.”
