This summer, the Special Olympics World Games took place here in Los Angeles. Beginning on July 25th and running through August 2nd, over 7,000 athletes, along with 3,000 coaches, 30,000 volunteers and more than 500,000 spectators; the games were the largest sports and humanitarian event taking place anywhere in the world in 2015! Not to mention it was the largest event to take place in Los Angeles, since the 1984 Olympic Games!

Time Warner Cable was proud to be an in-kind sponsor of the World Games through PSA’s and volunteer support. TWC employees, along with their family members and friends, made a strong demonstration of support by volunteering to be “Fans In the Stands”.  Groups of employees gathered and cheered at three of the biggest events during the games.  Time Warner Cable employee volunteers lead cheering sections in the stands at the UCLA Football, USC Basketball and LA Griffith Park Equestrian Center events.  In total, nearly 200 employees volunteered for a grand total of more than 600 volunteer hours donated!

With so many athletes traveling from all over the world to participate in the games, our employees were there to provide support for individuals whose family members and friends could not attend.  This is just another example of the amazing contributions of our Time Warner Cable employee base. Go team TWC!
