On December 4, FCA US LLC announced that it has converted its owned-truck fleet of 179 Detroit-based parts-haulers to run on compressed natural gas (CNG) rather than traditional diesel. This transition resulted in:

    • 27% cleaner emissions, or about 16,000 fewer tons of CO2 released into the air

    • 35% savings compared to diesel costs

    • $40 million investment in the FCA US Detroit transport facility
