During Women’s History Month… and every month, JetBlue honors the diverse perspective that women bring to the workplace. Take a look at the first video in JetBlue’s Fly Like a Girl series - https://vimeo.com/159439847.

The series kicks off with Theresa Parks, a Brooklyn, NY native and the first and only female supervisor on the airline’s Technical Operations team. Theresa is a member of a very unique sorority as one of very few female technicians at JetBlue or in the industry. Check out Theresa changing an aircraft engine like no other!

Women make up 47% of the U.S. labor force, yet less than 3% of all aviation mechanics are women. JetBlue and the JetBlue Foundation are trying to increase this statistic by encouraging women and those from underserved groups and communities to pursue careers in aviation. JetBlue would like to thank professionals like Theresa who inspire young women to soar and #FlyLikeAGirl.

The JetBlue Foundation is an education-focused entity which continues the airline’s efforts to place aviation top-of-mind as a career choice for students by igniting interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs.  The JetBlue Foundation provides grants and works with  schools and educational initiatives that provide STEM and aviation-related programs geared towards underserved groups and communities.  For more information on the efforts of the JetBlue Foundation, visit www.JetBlue.com/InspiringHumanity.
