On Friday, September 25, Booz Allen Senior Vice President Jennifer Swindell joined a panel discussion hosted by U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). The opening of the OFCCP fifty years ago marked the start of requirements for non-discriminatory practices in hiring and employment on the part of U.S. government contractors.

Swindell discussed the importance of diversity to Booz Allen, saying, “Booz Allen is a values-based organization. One of our core values is diversity, and another one is respect. We are committed to making sure that all of our employees feel respected and feel that they can be their true selves.” She noted that the firm’s equality policies included gender identity and sexual orientation years before these were required.  “We’ve seen an increase in of diverse talent in our population,” Swindell said. “And we are able to provide greater innovation due to the diversity of our population.”
