MADRID, November 23, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Accenture’s (NYSE: ACN) US$3.8 million grant to Fundación Entreculturas will help expand the nonprofit’s e-learning program and equip an additional 80,000 disadvantaged youth across Africa, Latin America and Spain with the skills needed for the most in-demand jobs.

The three-year grant, which is a mix of cash and pro bono services, will enable Fundación Entreculturas to secure direct employment for at least half of these youth. It builds on the success of the nonprofit’s current training program – developed in part by Accenture – which provides a new talent pipeline for employers by helping youth gain access to skills training and job placement.

By the end of 2018, Accenture and Fundación Entreculturas expect to have helped 175,000 disadvantaged youth gain job skills in more than 20 countries since the start of their partnership in 2011. As a part of its contribution, Accenture will provide pro-bono consulting services to support overall program management, extend the scope of its e-learning to include a broader, more market-driven digital training curriculum hosted in the Accenture Cloud Platform, and also improve the program’s job placement services.

The grant is part of Accenture’s corporate citizenship initiative, Skills to Succeed, which is equipping more than 3 million people around the world with the skills to get a job or build a business.

Fundación Entreculturas will work directly with its local affiliates to implement the program: Fe y Alegrías in Latin America and Chad, Pedro Arrupe High School Center in Mexico, Radio ECCA in Spain and the Jesuit Service for Refugees in Uganda and South Africa.

“Combining Accenture’s technology capabilities with the powerful capacity of the Fundación Entreculturas network, an innovative, market-oriented virtual learning program will be available to young people that have limited resources,” said Ana Millán, director of the Accenture Foundation in Spain. “Skills training, together with job placement services, will significantly increase both the employability of these young people and the possibility for them to secure sustainable jobs.”

Said Daniel Villanueva, director of Fundación Entreculturas: “Professional training is a great opportunity to motivate young people with limited resources – to offer them a path where they will feel useful, recognized and have the ability to contribute to the economic development of their communities.”
