ORLANDO, Fla., April 17, 2017 /3BL Media/ - Shannon Schuyler, Principal, Chief Purpose Officer & Corporate Responsibility Leader, PwC, was awarded the 2017 ACCP Ignite Award for her exceptional leadership in the corporate responsibility field.

Shannon has worked to infuse purpose into PwC’s core business strategy by elevating a global conversation on building trust, collaboration and acting with intention and meaning. Her contributions are aimed at catalyzing social shifts in inequality through action. This includes PwC newest commitment, Access Your Potential™, which is a $320 million, five-year commitment focused on closing the education, opportunity, and skills gaps by reaching more than 10 million students in underserved communities with programs, mentoring, and resources to enable development of financial capability and technology skills.

Steve Barr, PwC’s Consumer Products Leader, said, “Shannon’s passion for corporate and social responsibility is incredibly inspirational. Her dedication to instilling a strong sense of purpose and responsibility into the firm’s culture and business has helped energize our people to make a positive difference in society. This award is well-deserved and serves as a testament to Shannon’s leadership and impact.”

In addition to cultivating PwC-wide corporate responsibility initiatives, Shannon is a highly sought-after thought leader, named one of Fast Company’s Most Creative Leaders in Business, on a wide range of issues. She has spoken at the UN General Assembly about the implications of global megatrends (including climate change, immigration and the economy) and their effects on sustainable growth and responsible leadership. Shannon has participated in the G20 meetings, annual meetings for the Clinton Global Initiative, and has delivered addresses about the state of financial literacy at events for The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Mark Shamley, President and CEO for ACCP, said, “Shannon Schuyler is a rock star in the Corporate Responsibility profession. She took an internal white paper in 2007 where she promoted the strategic business need for a formal corporate responsibility program and transformed it into one of the world’s most admired programs that is embedded in PwC’s core business strategy. We are privileged to have recognized Shannon for accomplishments whose impacts have reverberated far beyond the walls of PwC. She has created a movement.”

Shannon has a strong commitment to advancing social purpose and making an impact: in addition to her role as president of the PwC Charitable Foundation, she is an active board member for The History Makers Foundation, Leadership Greater Chicago, The National Environmental Education Foundation, and she serves on the advisory committees of Points of Light, Boston College’s Center for Corporate Citizenship and The Conference Board Contributions Council.
