Leading individuals, companies, NGOs, and public sector organizations gathered for the Empowering Women and Girls 2030 Summit at United Nations NY Headquarters on July 13, 2016. Leaders convened around the Sustainable Development Global Goals to generate new ideas regarding the impact of mega trends on the empowerment of women and girls across the globe. Specifically, the summit cross-sector collaboration and innovation can be used to solve some of the world’s most vexing issues.

The Ideagen UN Empowering Women and Girls Summit encapsulated cross-sector innovators from the world’s leading organizations, all with different starting points, capabilities, perspectives and goals.  The convening was an extremely unique and profound expanse of knowledge, expertise and experience compiled in a single room. The Summit was the largest Ideagen Summit ever assembled and focused on understanding the global mega-trends and developing scalable solutions. 17 Sustainable Development Goals are intricately connected, so are the cross-sector innovators represented among our audience.  Panel discussions were designed to explore the linkages among sectors to serve as a catalyst for novel solutions.  The world’s most vexing issues cannot be solved in silos. The importance of cross sector collaboration and summit convening cannot be emphasized enough now more than ever before. Those in attendance were able to examine solutions that could be implementable, scalable, effective and long-term to empower women and girls across the planet.
