Dublin, March 19, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Aramark, the leading integrated services provider, is hosting a series of events in Ireland for its first Global Volunteer Day on Wednesday, March 19, which is aimed at  “Inspiring Kids to be Healthy for Life” and giving back to the communities.

The activities taking place in Ireland will help encourage parents and young people in underserved communities lead a healthier lifestyle.   To provide a place for people to grow fresh vegetables, more than 40 volunteers in Dublin will roll up their sleeves and create a community garden wellness zone at Keltoi in St. Mary’s Hospital, Dublin.  The team of 40 Aramark volunteers will create raised beds, paint wellness inspired murals for display and create a composting area for food and garden waste.

A series of health and wellness volunteer giving activities is also being held across a number of Aramark Ireland’s nationwide healthcare locations. Over 35 volunteers will be handing out healthy donation packs to patients and visitors at the healthcare facilities to promote healthy living for children.

Donation boxes in Aramark’s Regional offices have been set up to encourage employees to donate much needed items such as books, clothes and food for those in need.

Donal O’Brien, CEO of Aramark Ireland says: “This Global Volunteer Day is an opportunity for Aramark to make a real impact in one day across the globe and is a natural evolution of our company-wide volunteer program Aramark Building Community. I am proud of our employees volunteering to promote healthy lifestyles and represent Aramark in Ireland.”
