As Schools Reopen, Mayfield Junior School Installs Delos' Advanced Air Purification Technology Into Classrooms to Address Student and Faculty Health

PASADENA, Calif., March 2, 2021 /3BL Media/ – After months of remote learning due to COVID-19 state and local mandates, Mayfield Junior School is once again returning to in-person learning. It will do so with additional safety measures thanks, in part, to a new collaboration with Delos, one of the world’s leading wellness companies, and Humanity 2.0 Well Being, a mission-aligned wellness platform created in collaboration with the Vatican (Holy See). 

On February 1, Mayfield welcomed back students in Kindergarten, First and Second-Grade. Mayfield’s campus was prepared due to significant health and safety investments and enhancements. As part of a comprehensive program called Ever Forward, Mayfield installed 50 Delos “Powered by Healthway” air purifiers, equipping each classroom with patented technology that helps remove airborne mold, bacteria, and viruses.

As mounting evidence suggests that small aerosolized particles carrying SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) can remain suspended in the air and can persist in aerosol form for long periods of time indoors, air purification systems are considered by many to be a critical supplementary approach to reducing transmission rates by remediating airborne pollutants and contaminants. Delos’ advanced air purification units capture ultrafine particles and can reduce particles that carry airborne bacteria and viruses.

With nearly 5,000 Catholic elementary schools in the US, the project represents a flagship for future collaboration throughout the Catholic education sector to advance student, faculty, and community health.
