(3BL Media) Stamford, CT - October 4, 2012 - Are you a passionate recycling advocate? Do you want to spread the word in your community? On Nov. 15, thousands of event organizers from coast to coast will host the 15th annual America Recycles Day, a national day of recycling awareness, action and celebration.

National nonprofit Keep America Beautiful (KAB) wants to help you celebrate with event organizer toolkits that include educational materials, promotional items, event signage, “go-to guides” and more. Simply register your event online at AmericaRecyclesDay.org by Oct. 31 and a toolkit will be shipped in time for your event. But don’t wait – toolkits quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“An America Recycles Day event can take on any shape or form, collect any recyclable or compostable material, or engage any audience,” said Brenda Pulley, national program manager and senior vice president of recycling, Keep America Beautiful. “I’m thrilled with the creativity and diversity of the events being registered already, and Keep America Beautiful wants to support even more.”

Already, more than 1,000 events have been registered. Grocery chains, small businesses, local governments, college campuses, elementary schools, grassroots organizations, among many others, are promoting the recycling and composting of everything from plastic grocery bags to stuffed animals, and CFL bulbs to junk cars. Events are diverse and include education programs, collection events, flash mobs, and even some programs designed to provide rewards of cash and prizes to random recyclers.

While America Recycles Day is officially focused on Nov. 15, events can take place any time during the month of November. Learn more and register at AmericaRecyclesDay.org.

America’s leading companies are proud to make America Recycles Day possible. National sponsors to date include: American Chemistry Council, Anheuser-Busch, Earth911, Glad, Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé Waters North America, Owens-Illinois, PepsiCo and Waste Management.
