Capitol Petroleum and Certified Gasolines Host Golf Tournament to Benefit Local Chapter of The Muscular Dystrophy Association

New York, N.Y., August 25, 2014 /3BL Media/ – On Thursday, July 31, Staten Island, N.Y. CITGO Marketers Capitol Petroleum Group and Certified Gasolines came together to promote and host their first golf tournament benefitting the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Ten groups played in the tournament at La Touretta Golf Course on Staten Island, raising more than $21,000 for MDA.

“This event in support of MDA is an excellent way for Capitol Petroleum employees and customers to give back to the community,” said Victor Iroh, sales manager at Capitol Petroleum. “We hope this becomes a tradition for years to come and that more CITGO operators and vendors will support this cause.”

The Capitol Petroleum/Certified Gasolines MDA Golf Tournament will directly benefit families living in Manhattan and on Staten Island that MDA currently serves. The funds raised support local clinics, care programs and support groups for children and adults living with muscle disease. The day’s events included the giveaway of a trip to Antigua and a raffle prize of New York Yankees tickets. Stephanie Accardo, Miss Richmond County 2014, was also on hand for the event in support of the partnership between CITGO and the Miss America organization to promote topics such as education, social investment, health and well-being.
