Atlantic City, NJ, May 27, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Providing some of the best customer service in the industry involves continuous learning and best practices surrounding programs, processes and products and what better place to accomplish both than the annual Atlantic Region Energy Expo (AREE) held recently in Atlantic City. CITGO representatives joined energy and petroleum marketers at one of the most widely attended networking events for the industry in the northeast to learn about best practices, seek innovation and share knowledge to better serve customers.

As a Diamond Sponsor, CITGO, with help from the Miss America Organization, welcomed attendees to “Sponsor Hospitality Night.” Petroleum marketers, HVAC contractors, propane retailers, owners and managers as well as CITGO representatives had the chance to meet new people in new industries and discuss a variety of programs, initiatives and innovations important in the energy sector.

Five Miss America titleholders joined the CITGO team in fueling good at AREE: Miss New Jersey 2013, Cara McCollum; Miss Central Coast, Anna Negron; Miss Liberty, Jamie Hughes; Miss Ramapo Valley, Alyssa Clements; and Miss Southern Tier, Jillian Tapper. “Our wonderful partnership with CITGO has opened up doors to community events across my home state,” said McCollum. “It has provided a platform to meet people and advocate for key social issues important to our organization, like education and youth advocacy.”

In addition to “Sponsor Hospitality Night”, an array of business programs complemented the trade show, with session topics ranging from social media and marketing strategies to petroleum supply and customer service.

CITGO and its network of local Marketers and Retailers are joined by local Miss America titleholders at events across the nation, including anti-bullying presentations at Long Island schools with Miss New York; a benefit for the Racine County Food Bank with Miss Wisconsin; and an appearance at the PAPCO Muscular Dystrophy Association Jersey Auction with Miss Chesterfield, Miss State Fair of Virginia, Miss Greater Hampton Roads and Miss York County.
