Coca-Cola Enterprises has detailed its sustainability progress in its seventh Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report. The report outlines the company’s delivery against 37 targets in seven focus areas, with special attention to Energy and Climate Change, and Sustainable Packaging and Recycling. It also describes CCE’s plans for future innovation in those categories.
Levi Strauss employees participated in 165 community projects in 44 countries on the company’s 10th annual Community Day. In Levi’s hometown of San Francisco, 800 employees volunteered at 27 local projects, including the Edgewood Center for Children and Families, which the company’s founder supported with one of the first donations 150 years ago. The company also donated $500,000 to nonprofit organizations around the world.
NRG Energy, MidAmerican Solar, and First Solar have announced the Agua Caliente solar project’s first 100 megawatts of power delivered to the grid. Currently North America’s largest photovoltaic power plant, Agua Caliente will be one of the world’s largest by 2014. The project is owned by NRG Energy and MidAmerican Solar; First Solar is the project developer.
