Conflict Minerals Filing Deadline June 1st: Gain Insights on Smelter Disclosures

Jun 1, 2015 6:30 AM ET

June 1, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Supply chain transparency and conflict minerals will be in the news very soon. Today, Monday, June 1, is the deadline for more than 6,000 Public U.S. companies to file reports with the SEC to disclose whether their products contain conflict minerals.

In the past couple of months, there has been increased pressure from NGO's, such as Global Witness and Transparency International's report "Digging for Transparency," for companies to make their reporting "richer and fuller." This means companies need to take a deeper look at potential conflict minerals in their supply chains, and identify the "blind spots."

Last week a Source Intelligence hosted webinar titled, "Best Practices for Smelter Disclosures on Your Conflict Minerals Report" was held, and provided great insight on the smelter verification process, and how to improve smelter disclosures.

It’s not too late to understand best practices and gain insights on the most recent conflict minerals reports (CMR) that have been filed.

In order to view the Best Practices for Smelter Disclosures on Your Conflict Minerals Report, What Issuers and Non Issuers Can Learn From Recent CMR’s Webinar, you can view the webinar on demand.
