The Bayer USA Foundation has made a $540,000 dollar grant to California State University, East Bay, to create the Center for S.T.E.M. Education. The new Center will coordinate existing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education activities. Teacher development in S.T.E.M. education and student academic achievement will be main features of the new program.
Banorte has signed an agreement to work with the Sooma R.S.E. Network Initiative, an alliance in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon that promotes the development of projects for strengthening the social fabric. The goal of the Sooma R.S.E. Network is to increase citizen participation in the projects. The agreement renews Banorte’s community commitment mission, revitalized after the destruction caused by Hurricane Alex in Nuevo Leon, the state in which Banorte was begun. A group of regional 20 companies and organizations have joined Banorte in signing the cooperation agreement.
