CSR Minute: Kroger Raises $1.5M to Support the USO with "Honor Our Heroes" Campaign; League of American Bicyclists Laud Six New Bicycle Friendly Universities

Kroger has raised $1.5 million to support the USO in its work with American service men and women. The company’s “Honor Our Heroes” effort collected donations from customers and associates through a variety of in-store activities at Kroger stores across the country. Two major Kroger suppliers, Procter and Gamble, and Anheuser Busch, contributed $250,000 each in conjunction with special sales programs.
The League of American Bicyclists has announced six new Bicycle Friendly Universities. The BFU program recognizes schools for providing a more bicycle-friendly campus for students, staff, and visitors. Among the six are Ohio State University, the University of Vermont, the University of North Carolina, and George Mason University. There are now 26 BFUs in 20 states.
